This award recognises individuals whose role requires them to support our citizens and throughout their apprenticeship they have demonstrated putting people and customer service at the heart of everything they do.

For these awards, the judges are looking for:

• An apprentice who has made a significant contribution throughout their apprenticeship showing commitment and attitude plus added value within their role.
• Evidence of outstanding achievement through the quality of work carried out and how this benefits people around them.
• Demonstrated a high level of skills and determination to succeed in their chosen field.
• Proven commitment by an apprentice to continued personal development.
• Shown resilience in adapting and overcoming work challenges on their apprenticeship journey.

This award recognises the achievements of individuals whose role brings them into less contact with our citizens, instead providing vital support within their organisation, going above and beyond expectations.

For these awards, the judges are looking for:

• An apprentice who has made a significant contribution throughout their apprenticeship showing commitment and attitude plus added value within their role.
• Evidence of outstanding achievement through the quality of work carried out.
• Demonstrated a high level of skills and determination to succeed in their chosen field.

• Proven commitment by an apprentice to continued personal development.
• Shown resilience in adapting and overcoming work challenges on their apprenticeship journey.

Team Working Award

This award recognises an individual who has built and maintained excellent working relationships and has had a positive impact on team performance by providing encouragement and support.

For these awards, the judges are looking for:

• An apprentice who has made a significant contribution and added value within a team throughout their apprenticeship.
• Evidence of providing encouragement and support to team members and the impact this had on individual(s) and team performance.
• An apprentice who has worked enthusiastically and collaboratively within a team to implement solutions and effective working practices.
• Proven commitment by an apprentice to continued personal development.
• Sharing their learning from their apprenticeship within their team.

• Shown resilience in adapting and overcoming work challenges on their apprenticeship journey.

Foundation Achiever Award

This award recognises individuals who have used a level 2 or level 3 apprenticeship to commence, change or boost their career.

For these awards, the judges are looking for:

• An apprentice who has made a significant contribution throughout their apprenticeship showing commitment and attitude plus added value within their role.
• An apprentice who has demonstrated progression and determination to succeed in their chosen field.
• Proven commitment by an apprentice to continued personal development.
• Shown resilience in adapting and overcoming work challenges on their apprenticeship journey.

Personal Achievement

This award recognises individuals who have made significant progress and demonstrated outstanding commitment to their apprenticeship. Nominations are also encouraged for individuals that have overcome their own personal challenges on their apprenticeship journey.

For these awards, the judges are looking for:

• The significant progress an apprentice has made throughout their apprenticeship showing their commitment and attitude.
• An apprentice who has demonstrated progression and determination to succeed in their chosen field.
• An apprentice who has shown resilience in adapting and overcoming personal challenges on their apprenticeship journey.
• Proven commitment by an apprentice to continued personal development.
• An apprentice whose story would inspire other people to undertake an apprenticeship

Apprentice Manager / Mentor Award

This category will be open to people supporting a current apprentice(s) or one that has completed in the last 12 months (1 January 2022 to 31 December 2022). This category is for an individual who has helped and inspired apprentices in their apprenticeship, development and careers.

For these awards, the judges are looking for:

• An individual who has had a positive impact on the personal and professional development of the apprentice.
• The added value and support the individual provided to the apprentice.
• Evidence of the commitment the individual has made to aiding personal development.
• Evidence of an individual being approachable, adaptable and understand how best to support the apprentice.

This award recognises an employer's outstanding commitment to apprentices and apprenticeships within an organisation. This could be from any perspective, local to national, subject-specific to sector-wide. It is open to employers from all sectors and all sizes within Cambridgeshire. Nominations will need to include evidence from the last 12 months of their positive contribution to apprenticeships and how this has added value, to the overall apprentice brand and reputation.

For this award, the judges are looking for:

• Evidence of commitment to apprenticeships within your whole organisation, including an overview of how their apprenticeship programmes are embedded within the organisation.
• Explanation of the success apprenticeships have brought to the organisation and the benefits of their apprenticeship programme.
• Evidence to their commitment to increasing the diversity of apprentices they work with to widen participation and demonstrate positive results.

• All nominations will be reviewed and entries which are successful in the initial assessment stage will be read by judges.

• Entries with insufficient or incomplete information will not successfully complete the initial assessment stage.
• The judging panel will shortlist and select winners in each category.
• Selected from the Apprentice categories there will be an overall ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award.

The Apprenticeship Award winners will be announced at a celebration event on the 8 February 2023

Yes, there is no charge to register or submit an entry.  If you receive an invite to the awards ceremony that will be free to attend.

Your responses to the questions will be used in the judging process. The judging panel will not be passed any personal information including names and employment details. Should a nominee be shortlisted, some information may be included in the script within the award ceremony however if there is any particularly sensitive or confidential information within your entry please mention this in the entry.

The closing date for entries is midday on Monday 12 December 2022.

The judging panel will be made up of a mix of people from differing organisations from within the county.

The finalists will be announced week beginning 16 January 2023. 

You may be one of the fortunate nominees to be invited to the awards ceremony, those invited will receive a confirmation e-mail with details of the event.

The nominator will be informed of unsuccessful entries.

The awards ceremony is due to be held on Wednesday 8 February 2023 at Alconbury Weald.

Applications to the Cambridgeshire Apprenticeship Awards are subject to the following terms and conditions.

• The organisers cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage of any entry. All entry forms will be acknowledged.
• All entries will be treated in the strictest confidence.
• The judges’ decisions will be final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into regarding the selection of the winners.
• Nominations will only be accepted when submitted via the nomination form.
• Nominations can be submitted no later than 5.00pm Monday 5th December 2022.
• Should the judges determine an entry submitted for one category is of greater relevance to another category, they may re-categorise that entry.
• Multiple categories can be entered, separate nomination forms will be required for each category.
• All nominations will be reviewed and entries which are successful in the initial assessment stage will be read by judges.
• Entries with insufficient or incomplete information will not successfully complete the initial assessment stage.

The personal information submitted within an application, will be used by Cambridgeshire County Council to process and communicate with the nominator and nominee about the application. We will only keep your information for as long as is necessary and then securely dispose of it.

Separate signed consent will be requested for use of any images and videos taken as part of the apprenticeship awards
